Petalia & Lilea, The Flower Collection is a collection of light and delicate, yet durable lamps designed by Lawrence Kim of A+U Lab with the design team comprising Seonghoo Song, Hyeonji Lee, and Geonwoo Yu.

Inspired by flowers, the collection’s shape, material, and light effects create a unique atmosphere.

The luminaires are the results of A+U LAB’s experimentation with distinctive materials: metal mesh and paper.

For its inspired design, Petalia & Lilea, The Flower Collection has recently been awarded a 2022 American Architecture Award by The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies.

These luminaires are created from stainless steel wire mesh, mesh fabric, and paper laminated PVC sheets.

The designers sought to express its materiality in its shape and how they combine to generate illumination to create a product that merges form with light, and beauty with function.

The composition of curvilinear lines and undulating surfaces of the paper, fabric, and metal sheets, allow soft diffused lights to filter through the layered shades, generating variable texture tones and accentuating the shape of the fixture.

The soft light effects that project into the space produce an enticing ambiance, shaping a pervading mood of the place.

The pendant lamps are available in three sizes that can be placed or hung individually in a small space or with multiple lights combined in a larger area.

The collection allows the creation of varying compositions to suit the spatial quality of a place.

Petalia & Lilea, The Flower Collection comes in three pendants and two floor lamp sizes.

The handmade production assures that each lamp is unique with quality craftsmanship.

The unique lights are a balance between frail beauty, lightness, and durability.
